Orders can be cancelled or changed within 24 hours of purchase. Unfortunately, we cannot cancel or change orders outside of the 24 hour window.
How can I track my order?
Once you place your order, you will receive an email with a tracking number. Click on the tracking number and follow the instructions to track your order.
Are my payment details and data secure?
What do I do if I never receive my order?
Please email email@example.com immediately. We will ensure your order is expedited.
Where are you located?
Groop of Friends was born and raised in Chicago, IL. Our mailing address is 222 Merchandise Mart Plaza Suite 102, PO BOX 3251, Chicago, IL 60654.
How do I make sure I order the right size?
All of Groop of Friends products are unisex - made to be worn by all humans. Unisex sizing is based globally on men's measurements. When ordering unisex products for women, we recommend ordering a size smaller. For example, if you wear a medium, you may consider a small. Our garments fit true to size.
How do I contact your company if my question isn't answered here?
Reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions, concerns, ideas, or memes. You can also submit a question through the open forms on many of our website pages. We will get back to you as soon as possible!
What is the definition of low-income?
We consider low-income as a custodial income of $95,000 or less. Unfortunately, this represents about 65% of the US population.
Will merit indicators be considered when screening applicants?
Yes, we require a 2.0 GPA. However, GPA academic merit is a very small piece of the application, and does not carry as much weight as an applicant's story and attributes. We do not require test scores.
Why are Friendly Scholars listed on the website?
We feel it is important to be transparent with the sponsorship money we distribute. Rarely do donors have transparency or traceability to the human level when they donate, and we strive to provide that. We also want to share the success of our Friendly Scholars! We believe that giving our customers and donors a chance to meet the Friendly Scholars may result in more involvement and a stronger community of mutually beneficial support.
Why $5,000 sponsorships?
$5,000 is the approximate cost of community college, coding bootcamps, art school, trade schools, online classes, cosmetology school, real estate classes, etc. If the $5,000 doesn't cover the costs completely, we hope that it will significantly reduce the economic barrier faced by low income high school graduates.
Are sponsorships restricted to alternative education? Can a student still attend traditional college?
Scholarships are not restricted to any specific type of education - we will fund whatever the student believes is the right path for them, including traditional college.
Will the Board of Directors grow?
Yes! Our initial Board of Directors is certainly diverse and open minded, but we hope to add more Directors from a wider array of backgrounds (e.g. ethnicity, education, socioeconomic status, gender, sexuality, etc.). We believe that the most transparent and fair way to select candidates is with a selection committee as diverse as the applicant pool. This is something we will constantly be working on to eliminate any and all bias from the selection process.
How is the sponsorship money distributed to Friendly Scholars?
The Friendly Scholar Foundation pays educational institutions directly. We do this maximize transparency and avoid any potential misuse of funds.
Where does the Friendly Scholar Foundation recruit its applicants from?
As we select our first cohort, we will focus our recruiting efforts within the Chicago Public School (CPS) system. As we grow, we will expand outside of CPS and open up application opportunities nationwide. Stay with us on our journey to expand your impact.
